Fill out the form below for more information about auditioning for membership in the Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra.
The Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra is comprised of volunteer members, and strives to maintain a high level of musicianship among our membership. Formal auditions are required for all new members. Auditions are typically scheduled during May and August for the following season. However, we occasionally schedule individual auditions during our performance season depending on need. We maintain a list of substitutes, so even if a space is not readily available we encourage you to contact us if you are interested in playing with our group.
Auditions include performance of selected excerpts from pieces we have performed in the past, and a solo piece of the auditioning musician’s choice, followed by a brief interview. The audition panel consists of the Conductor, Concertmaster, and Principal from the appropriate section.
The orchestra has an attendance policy; normally, members may miss no more than two rehearsals during each concert. The orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m., with an additional rehearsal on the Tuesday prior to a concert.
The orchestra rehearses at The Lone Tree Hub, located at 8827 Lone Tree Parkway, Lone Tree, CO 80124, and performs at the Lone Tree Arts Center located at 10075 Commons Street in Lone Tree, CO.
If you have an interest in joining us, please contact Personnel Director, Gary Wilhelm, prior to showing up at a rehearsal or to an audition. This way it can be determined whether an opening is available for the instrument you play, and if so, excerpts will be provided and an audition can be scheduled.
